Who I am
Darren Trofimczuk is a British educational technology expert and experienced technology teacher with over 18yrs of experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology & International Politics (BSc Hons), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Master of Business Administration in Communication Management (MBA) and is Google for Education Level 1 certified.
Born and raised in London, Darren came to Finland in 2011 with his Finnish wife and two children and continued his career as a Technology Coordinator at the International School in Helsinki.
After working a few years in Finland Darren realised what a great country Finland is for business start-ups and decided to start his own business TrofTech, specialising in e-learning, consulting, website design, app creation and mobile device cases.
Darren now works as a lecturer at Haaga-Helia University in Porvoo and lectures in courses for the International Business, Tourism and Aviation degree programmes.
Darren is a mentor at xEdu that supports educational technology startups based in Finland and is the number one business accelerator in the Nordics.
Darren's interests outside educational technology and business are aviation, fitness training, international current affairs, space exploration, travelling and following his football team (Tottenham Hotspur).
More recently Darren has become the Liberal Democrat National Coordinator for Finland
